Mechanical Engineer (B.Sc.) - Edmonton

 

Mechanical Engineer position in Edmonton, AB

An exciting opportunity exists in our recently-opened Edmonton office for an experienced, energetic and committed Mechanical Engineer.​ The successful candidate will work in our new facility to support research and development projects for clients in the oil, energy, pharmaceutical and defense industries, among many others.
Responsibilities will include various mechanical engineering tasks such as:

  • Performing mechanical design calculations (pressure drop, heat transfer, stress analysis, etc.​)
  • Managing projects, support documents, and writing reports
  • 3D and FEA modeling as well as generating fabrication drawings
  • Specifying and procuring equipment
  • Collecting, organizing & analyzing data
  • Operating tools, equipment and experiments

Projects will be based mainly out of our laboratory facility in Edmonton.​ However, there are also potential opportunities for field work based on project requirements.​ The candidate must also thrive in a team oriented environment, while also work well independently.​

Qualification requirements:

  • B.​Sc.​ Mechanical /​ Chemical Engineering from an institution accredited by the Accreditation Board, Engineers Canada or equivalent.​
  • Registered as a P.​Eng.​ or EIT with APEGGA.​
  • Minimum of 3years industrial experience
  • Excellent written and communication skills, fluency in written and spoken English
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical systems, process equipment, lab setup, power and hand tools, etc. is an asset.
  • Knowledge of engineering fluid dynamics is beneficial as well as experience with plant design, equipment specification, ASME codes, pressure vessel, and piping systems.​
  • Must be a Canadian Citizen or landed immigrant in Canada
