Purging
The purging of vessels, chambers or piping systems is performed thousands of times each day in facilities throughout the world. This process is often fluid dynamically complex due to the geometry and fluids involved, and is often performed in a very inefficient and costly fashion. Coanda has worked extensively with natural gas pipelines and petrochemical facilities to improve purging procedures, often with a dramatic impact on performance.
Shown here is a laboratory simulation demonstrating the purging of a 10 diameter dead-leg upstream of a loading line in a pipeline. Click to download a video clip - short (0.9Mb) or long (2.8Mb)
